These birds are truly amazing, I was hoping to sight more, and to get some great shots, but the ones that were out were mostly sitting in trees or far away on rocks to where, even with my 500mm zoom I couldn't focus in on them, thus I ended up with a few shots but with darkness approaching and the dam closes an hour after sunset and a severe drop in temperatures, and no action on the water, I ended up leaving......
This guy was watching me, I know he was he kept turning and moving and it was hard to get a shot, but I managed a couple this is one of the best ones.
After a long hard day, and a bad day, I finally stormed out of the house, not before I cussed some poor lady out at Comcast. I grabbed my lenses, grabbed my cameras, got my tri pod and set off, filled up the car with gas and went to Conowingo Dam.
There is just something about the beauty of these birds, and listening to them call to each other. And like the Osprey they have surprisingly a very very melodic call. I always though it would be more like a squawk. But I sat there and listened to them, and enjoying nature.
Here is one of the few shots I was able to take before it turned dark.
